INHS Receives $1 Million to Expand Homeownership Programs

INHS was recently awarded two HOME Local grants through NYS Homes and Community Renewal, totaling $988,500. These funds will allow INHS to expand its homeownership program by 34 households throughout Schuyler, Seneca, Tioga, and Tompkins Counties. The program will provide down payment and closing cost assistance to low- and moderate-income homeowners. In 2018, 77 households received down-payment assistance or closing cost loans through INHS within its service area, which includes Cayuga, Chemung, Cortland, Schuyler, Seneca, Tioga and Tompkins Counties.

Community Invited to Take Part in Immaculate Conception Site Plans

High-quality and affordable housing is a platform for building strong and healthy communities. To help cultivate a connection between the INHS's newest project, the redevelopment of the former Immaculate Conception School site and the community, INHS has invited the public to attend community engagement sessions to help determine the future landscape of the property. The first meeting will be held on Wednesday, February 13 from 5 - 7 p.m. at GIAC. (The event was originally scheduled for Feb. 12 but rescheduled due to weather.)

INHS Named Purchaser of Immaculate Conception School

INHS is excited to announce that is has been named the purchaser of the former Immaculate Conception School. The beloved property has been a staple in the community and INHS hopes to continue that legacy by redeveloping it into affordable housing rentals with space for nonprofit and community-based organizations that serve children and families.
