Make way for Breckenridge Place Apartments
Exterior demolition on the former Women's Community Building began on Friday June 15th, 2012. The 100 W. Seneca St. site is the new home of Breckenridge Place Apartments. Ithaca Neighborhood Housing Services (INHS) and PathStone Corporation are the not-for-profit development partners building the $14.5 million affordable apartment building project.
Breckenridge Place will provide 50 units of affordable one and two bedroom apartments as well as office and meeting space. The six story fully accessible brick building was designed by HOLT Architects, and Crista Construction is managing the 18 month long building project. The first units are expected to begin leasing in the fall of 2013, and INHS will provide rental and property management. Breckenridge is the first major affordable housing real estate project in Ithaca's downtown area in forty years.
